In her new novel, “The Sisters of Summit Avenue,” award-winning author Lynn Cullen sets the story in Depression-era America, where June Whiteleather is a “Betty,” a recipe developer at the famous Betty Crocker test kitchen, and has to deal with her envious sister, Ruth. Lynn joins us to discuss this emotional journey of redemption, inner strength, and the ties that bind families together.

October 30, 2017 – This documentary by PBS’s American Masters draws on the rich palette of Poe’s evocative imagery and sharply drawn plots to tell the real story of the notorious author. “Edgar Allan Poe: Buried Alive” combines dramatized re-enactments by Tony Award-winning and Emmy-nominated actor Denis O’Hare as Poe in key moments of the writer’s life and interviews with contemporary authors about Poe and his legacy.
